A personal journey to holistic health & learning the hard way…
Let’s start with the darkest moment in my health that brought me to where I am today – coaching women like you on exactly how to confidently heal their bodies naturally, feel good long-term, and make understanding and leveraging their biology more intuitive. No more pressing pause on life!
Flash back to 2017 when I was getting my Masters in Physics, ramping up my endurance training, and moving through life at 100 mph.
My health hit rock bottom, and I didn’t even know it.
I had a lot on my plate, too busy to even notice that my health was suffering. I didn’t know that I had anxiety. And with it, other budding health issues.
“Stress is normal, right? Everybody’s tired.”
Or so I told myself to keep plowing ahead with my demanding life: grad school, marathon training, travel. Everything was fine, so I never looked up.
Until summer 2017 came.
And I was BURNED OUT.
I woke up one day to realize that I was sleeping from 8 pm to 8 am every night and was exhausted by the next evening. 12 hours of sleep night after night, and I still didn’t have the energy to get off the couch, much less go to the grocery store or clean my apartment.
I didn’t fully realize the hole I had dug for myself. I even thought I was healthy, eating pretty clean and exercising plenty. But I wasn’t healthy.
I was drowning. I was overexerting myself, triggering terrible anxiety. And this wasn’t a new thing. I’d been living this way for as long as I could remember.
Toxic, deep-rooted patterns had wreaked havoc on my hormones, nervous system, and gut health the over years. Quiet and undetected… until it wasn’t.
While reading up on hormones for my husband’s autoimmune condition — Grave’s disease — something caught my attention: adrenal fatigue. I had 95% of the symptoms on the list. It was like someone reached through the book and smacked me in the forehead.
My newfound awareness woke me up to other things I had been experiencing that weren’t normal, but never alarmed me.
Things I’d never thought of as “symptoms”, but were red flags from my body that something was wrong. Adrenal fatigue could explain a lot, but not everything. There was more to the story.
I asked myself 2 important questions:
“Why am I like this right now?”
“What if everything I’m experiencing is actually connected?”
I made the decision right then and there that I was going to figure this whole “health” thing out, no matter what it took.
So I started researching. I read books and blogs, studied everything I could get my hands on.
The rabbit hole I stumbled into changed my life.
As it turned out, I wasn’t eating nearly as well as I thought. And for the toxic load I was unknowingly burdening my body with, I needed more rest and less intense workouts.
(Which quite frankly, wasn’t easy to come to terms with. I liked my training intensity.)
But clean eating & working out barely scratched the surface.
I started exploring other areas: household and beauty product ingredients, tap water additives, sleep quality, environmental toxins. How to detox and replenish. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
I learned that while, from the outside, diseases and ailments look different, the root cause is the same: inflammation.
We’re immersed in toxins: inflammatory, nutrient-free food, the environment, and thought patterns.
And when we clean up our system, we heal.
My husband went on this healing journey with me. He is now medication free from his Grave’s disease (and has been since 2017) and no longer dealing with the daily interruptions it was causing. His autoimmune condition was supposedly “incurable”, and his doctors were incredibly unsupportive.
But he healed anyway — all from the natural lifestyle changes we made together.
In the last several years, I changed my own life and then started teaching other women how they can do the same.
Now, I help women clean up their systems and heal, too, and gain the freedom found in true health.
I wake up every day knowing how to take care of myself, enjoying life without interruption from chronic illness (like calling in sick with the “flu” after an anxiety attack… again), and never worried about contracting diseases in the future.
I’m committed to helping women remove poor health as an obstacle in their lives.
So, I created a coaching method for my private clients to help them heal naturally the way I did — a method based on 3 foundational areas of health every woman needs to address to heal her body naturally, stop the daily interruptions and get back to enjoying life on her own terms.
All rooted in a personalized, meet-you-where-you’re-at approach to science-based, whole-lifestyle wellness.
HEALING only came when I connected the dots among all areas of my life and gave myself the time, space, and resources to make the necessary changes.
